Your 3 days Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour will start at around 07h30 in the morning from your riad or hotel. We will start our Morocco desert tour with a drive to Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou through Tizi Ntichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains. Numerous stops will be made along the way. Visit the UNESCO world heritage Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, which was also served as a set for various Hollywood blockbusters. We continue to Ouarzazate and visit Kasbah Taourirte before lunch ( At leisure ). In the afternoon, we drive to Boumalne Dades via the Valley of the Roses before we reach our boutique guesthouse located in Dades Valley. Dinner and overnight
After breakfast, drive through the 1001 Kasbahs road to Tinghir where you can enjoy a walk along Todgha River Banks visiting Berber Villages and Ksours and end up in the impressive landscapes of huge cliffs of Todgha gorges. Lunch at leisure in the Gorges before you continue to Merzouga. Upon arrival at Erg Chebbi, meet your camel caravan where the road ends and ride your camel and drive over the color changing sand dunes to watch one of the most dramatic sunsets ever. Drive back to your Sahara desert camp where a well deserved Moroccan dinner will be served under the stars next to the camp fire while entertained by the local nomads playing their drums, and the near by dunes expose a great display od shooting stars and crystal clear constellations. Overnight at your Sahara desert camp.
After breakfast, drive back to Marrakech through Dades Valley, Ouarzazate (where we will stop for lunch) and Tizi Ntichka pass. Your 3 days desert trip from Marrakech to Merzouga will end at your hotel or riad.
Marrakesh to Fes – 3 day desert tour with Ismail was perfect!
We did the three day, two night trip as a private group of 4 from Marrakesh to Fes, with stops in Ait Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, Dades Gorge, and Merzouga in the desert. Fantastic experience – the drives were long but so much opportunity to stop and enjoy the scenery and take in all Morocco has to offer.
Ismail was our guide and driver and he was fantastic. We had a lot of laughs and even shared a few riddles “I cannot operate on the boy, because he is my son!” 🙂 He took us to some scenic spots for photos and made the long drives seem quite short. He navigated the route perfectly and made sure we were comfortable. Thank you very much!
Our only negative comment was that the restaurants we stopped at typically were standard “tourist traps”, where the quality was not super great and the prices/service were adequate at best. Since we thought it was part of the “package”, we didn’t ask (our fault) but we often found on Google Maps / FourSquare that there were better options nearby.

My partner and I really enjoyed a very well-planned trip with this company. Our driver, Khalil, was very accommodating and kind when my partner got sick and needed medicine and when we wanted slow driving (there are many corners on this route through the mountains!). There are many photo opportunities and beautiful things to see and khalil took as many photos as we wanted!
Our accommodations were all beautiful – we were very pleased with the service (never had to lift our own suitcases and very attentive staff) and each place had delicious Moroccan food. The desert part of the trip was the highlight: the camel ride in the sunset was absolutely amazing. The Sahara desert tent was extreme luxury, with a flushing toilet, shower, and all the food you could possibly want to eat. You can take large suitcases as they transport them in a 4×4 to the camp so don’t worry. My only recommendation is that if you don’t fare well with the heat (over 40C in July) then choose a colder month. Everything had air conditioning except the tent and I found it difficult. I can’t fault anything in this tour except if you want local cheaper cuisine then research ahead of time or you’ll be taken to all the tourist restaurants with tourist prices. They will accommodate you if you tell them what you want though. Also keep a lot of spare small change for tipping.

An unforgettable experience!
Words cannot express our love for this tour! To start we had an amazing guide khalil. He was incredible and made sure we had the best time during our three day tour from Marrakech to the Sahara. We were amazed at how many places we got to stop off at on our way and really felt like we had incredibly value for our money! The first riad we stayed in had the most gorgeous setting and the staff were so friendly. The food here was amazing, and it was so nice to be treated to some ‘home style’ Moroccan cooking. Then after a stunning ride through the desert on our camels, we were amazed to see our camp and how well set up it was! The whole tour was so well organised and we felt incredibly well looked after at each point. The only thing we would change, would be extending our three days and going on a longer tour to get to visit even more places!
Certainly an unforgettable experience
We are from Hong Kong, and we joined the Sahara tour 3-7 June. khalil was our driver and guide. He is energetic, always concerns with our needs, and allows us to change the plan, always accommodating. I would recommend to join this private tour. We started from Marrakech and finished in Fez. It was really a long journey but you can stop at any particular point where you are interested in and stayed longer. This will be more funny and enjoyable. The hotel and desert camp are very good as well. You can charge your mobile phone at the camp without the need for extra power bank. Highly recommended.
Fantastic 3 Days with Ismail
Amazing tour. Our 4-person group spent 3 day traveling from Fes to Marakech, which included a night in the Sahara and a night in the Dades Valley. I highly recommend and 100% request Ismail, our tour guide.
Ismail was extremely knowledgeable, able to answer EVERY SINGLE question, which was a phenomenal feat with our group. He was charming and always eager to make our trip as fun and educational as it could be. His English was perfect so it made for a very easygoing experience.
We spent alot of the time in the car but the trip was never dull, with many exciting and breathtaking stops that were well-planned along the way. Some of the views were amazing, with pictures that you can’t get anywhere else.
The night in the Sahara was unforgettable, getting to see the sunset and sunrise along the giant sand dunes. Traveling into the desert and the accommodations were great.
Overall, the trip was well-organized. I always felt safe and taken care of, while still feeling that I got to see authentic experiences. Highly recommend.
